US F-15s dispatched to escort Canadian flight after bomb threat

COMOX VALLEY, British Columbia -- A Korean Airlines flight out of Vancouver, Canada, requested U.S. assistance in reaction to a "credible bomb threat" on board, a U.S. official told Fox News.
The U.S. military scrambled two F-15 fighter jets, and the aircraft landed safely with the US military escort at a Canadian military base on Vancouver Island.
Officials are checking now for explosives.
The Canadian Forces says in a news release the flight was traveling from Vancouver International Airport and was diverted at about 5:30 p.m. The military says emergency personnel are securing the aircraft in accordance with normal procedures.

This is B.S news. Nothing special. Our government here wants to buy F-35 Fighter Jets for Billions of $$ but there are some elements out there that are trying to oppose it. All this does interest U.S as they are majority stake owners of the program. Its just nothing but an excuse...

We have a big issue going around here regarding purchase of F-35 Jets. There is the conservative government which is currently in power that wants it and there is the NDP, and the Liberals that are opposing it. We have heard stupid news before such as Russian Tu-95 Bombers coming near Canada a couple of times. At the end of the day, the Americans would love to support Harper government purchase these jets cuz their gonna make money out of it.

Funny thing is that Canada a peaceful nation was in danger today, at the same time the issue is being raised about F-35 purchase... Mark my words, the excuse tomorrow will be that Canadian forces are 'weak' because U.S F-15s had to come in to protect us...

Korean Airlines' US call center got the bomb threat call, so obviously they would contact US authorities and not the Canadian. Think you are reading too much into this.

Dude first of all you are not living in Canada. And second of all you don't know anything about Canadians.
Just leave it man. There is something called 'media/North America propaganda'. I bet there is absolutely no confirmation about this news in Korea...
