The Associated Press: Pakistan: US missile attack kills 4 in northwest

What all will the American people allow? The US has now started picking up public places as targets because thats the best intel they may have on the whereabouts of militants, damn be the general public that gets killed?

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — An American drone fired two missiles at a bakery in northwest Pakistan Saturday, killing four suspected militants, officials said, as the U.S. pushed ahead with its drone campaign despite Pakistani demands to stop. This was the third such strike in the country in less than a week.

Drone attacks in Pakistani tribal areas where Afghan and other militants have found refuge are considered a key tactic by U.S. officials in the war against al-Qaida and its Taliban supporters. But many Pakistanis resent the strikes, which they consider an affront to their sovereignty.

Two Pakistani intelligence officials said the latest attack took place in Miran Shah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region.

The officials said the victims were buying goods from a bakery when the missiles hit. Residents were still removing the debris<A few days later this will be reported as - militants cordoned off the area to remove the dead bodies>, officials said. All of the dead were foreigners, but the officials did not have any information on their identities or nationalities.<what a joke of a statement>

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. The U.S. rarely talks publicly about the covert CIA-run drone program in Pakistan.

Drone strikes have become an increasingly contentious issue between Washington and Pakistan. Pakistan's parliament has demanded the U.S. end all attacks on its territory.

Some figures within the Pakistani government and military are widely believed to have supported the attacks in the past. Washington-Islamabad security cooperation has declined as relations between the two countries have deteriorated, but many analysts believe there is still some support for the attacks on militants within Pakistan's senior ranks.

U.S. officials have said in private that the strikes are a vital anti-terror tool and have killed many senior al-Qaida and Taliban commanders.

On Thursday, a suspected U.S. drone killed 10 alleged militants in northwest Pakistan near the Afghan border.

The attack took place in a militant hideout in the North Waziristan tribal area. Most of those killed were believed to be Uzbek insurgents.

On Wednesday four suspected militants were killed in the village of Datta Khel Kalai in North Waziristan.

The ongoing strikes have complicated negotiations between Islamabad and Washington about reopening supply routes for NATO troops in Afghanistan. Pakistan closed the routes six months ago in retaliation for U.S. airstrikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers along the Afghan border. The Americans say the attacks were an accident.

Also Saturday, insurgents fired two rockets that killed two people and wounded 21 others in the city of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province, said senior police officer Qazi Abdul Wahid. One man was killed when a rocket slammed into a small Christian neighborhood, and a boy died when the second rocket hit a shoe store.

Baluchistan has experienced a decades-long insurgency by nationalists who demand greater autonomy and a larger share of the province's natural resources. The province is also thought to be home to many Afghan Taliban militants.

I think if the current lot of people refuse to shoot down these drones any further they should be tried by the law for failing to do their duties.

I suspect the deal accepted by Pakistan Army allowing US drones to attack them in North Waziristan. The Chicago meeting was not going well though US drones continue to pressure them.

Another one? That's so ridiculous. US has no regard for a life, let alone an innocent one. It just clearly shows how frustrated they are with Pakistani government and they take it down on innocent people. Shame on that guy whos playing with that little joystick.

Silence by the legislative and military implies that drone strikes are done with their consent. So it will be wise to accept the drones as acceptable weapon against WOT.

PA military allowed drone strikes because they did not wanted to control the terrorist in NW. If you continue to harbor people who attack foreign countries and refuse to act on it, other countries will find a way to respond. You got away with not so powerful countries, cannot do the same with super power. Thankfullly they are currently not doing well on economy.

- These suspected terrorists being threatened haven't terrorized or done anything dangerous on US soil since 9/11

- Bin Laden is dead, I don't see what the the hype is about now. I doubt there is anyone able to launch an attack similar to him alive today. Most of the terrorists from Al Qaeda have been killed by Pak Army already.

- Pak Army & GOP don't want anything to do with NW Pakistan, so they're leaving it to the Americans to do whatever they want there

- To be quite frank, GoP and Pak Army really don't care what America does in Pakistan right now. With the supply lines closed and the American soldiers panicking and not having access to vital resources, they are laying low for now and not coming up with any sort of negotiations and allowing the Americans to suffer

- Basically the Americans are just doing the dirty work for the GoP and Pak Army. Any remaining suspected terrorists - they are finishing them off. But at a huge price since the lives of innocent civilians are being taken as well - but GoP and Pak Army could care less it seems

- In the end, America's economy is suffering while Pakistan is gaining money in aid. Once Americans threaten to cut even more aid, I believe drone strikes will be condemned entirely by GoP and Pak Army. If NATO supply lines can come to a halt, so can the Drone Strikes

If they were not doing anything in Afghanistan, nobody would have cared about them.

If they were not doing anything in Afghanistan, nobody would have cared about them.
The terrorists are more of a threat to the security and safety of Pakistan than America or Afghanistan.

Pak Army & GoP know this, that's why they are letting US do whatever they want - the dirty dishes are being washed for them.

I have no problem with drone strikes being administered in order to target the terrorists who are a threat to the Pakistani public.

I only have a problem with drone strikes being targeted against innocent civilians and places of worship.

Imagine if Pakistan would strike a bakery in the U.S. all hell would be let loose.

USA never cared for our lives.. to them only Americans are humans and rest of the world including human is despencible assert which could be used, manipulated, burnt, bent and destroyed because of any and every benefit which America can get as a result.

With actions like that, they have earned the hatred and are willing to offend more and more people - lets not forget America needs to blame a country other than Taliban who became reason of their defeat.. so they could sanction that country and tell Americans back at home that - you see.. Taliban didn't defeat us but it was a stable country with strong army who took side against us at a crucial time and that resulted in our defeat. America is seriously looking to find that country and there is no better country than Pakistan for that. We are a dispensable country and dispensable relation to them - lets not forget that ever.

Lozz at you Hindi nothing more.

The thing is US is starting a war against Pakistan they cannot see a stable Pakistan, never. It was like Ex Air Chief Marshal Rao replied to the outrages question asked by PPP, PML-N in the parliament. These corrupt politicians asked his “why don’t you shoot the drones down?”. He said “give us the order we will shoot them down & we are fully capable of shooting them down” after his answer there was pin drop silence in the parliament, so now you know who is stopping Pak Army to shoot down the drones these massively corrupt politicians.

When Pakistan Army will take over Pakistan Drone attacks will stop immediately or US will test Pak Armies patience & US will be slapped if they test Pak Armies patience. There is lots & lots of anger in Pak Army against both the politicians & against US. Pak Army will do very fine when they take over Pakistan. This is the truth.

THANKS ALLAH we are non-nato important ally
