UNITED NATIONS, Oct 7: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has declined to give a specific timeline to appoint an Inquiry Commission to look into the assassination of PPP leader Benazir Bhutto, and clarified that the commission would be a fact-finding body and not an investigative body.

Mr Ban told reporters that appointing such a commission would take “a little bit more time”.

Addressing a press conference he said that during his talks with President Asif Ali Zardari at UN Headquarters they agreed that there would be “some sort of a commission under the UN”.

Talks were continuing on technical matters, such as who should be appointed as members of the commission, how it should be funded and its timeframe and scope, Mr Ban said. “We’re trying to work out solutions. We’re still discussing it with the Pakistan government,” he said.

I think its good for the people of Pakistan keeping in view the bad situation of economy.

Plus i dont think so zardari will also be much enthusiastic about investigating it by UN.
