The State Service of Export Control of Ukraine reported that a 108 BRDM-2 armoured reconnaissance vehicles were sold to a customer in the United Arab Emirates in 2016.

The BRDM-2 armoured reconnaissance vehicles were repaired at Mykolayiv Armoured Plant and delivered to the UAE in at the end of 2016. Armoured vehicles are designed to transfer loyal by UAE to the regimes in Yemen and Libya.

The BRDM-2 is a Soviet-made amphibious armoured patrol car. Currently this amphibious scout car it is in service with Russian army and over 50 countries worldwide. Armor of the BRDM-2 provides protection only against small arms fire and small caliber artillery fragments.
