In the 2011 UK census, 83,000 sikhs refrained from ticking the "indian" box and instead ticked "Asian Other" and wrote "sikh".

LONDON: The UK government has no plans to ban a demonstration planned by a pro-Khalistan group here as long as it is "within the law" and remains non-violent, a senior government official said on Friday.

That is a big SLAP in the face of certain liberals who claim that ALL Pakistanis, indians, bengalis etc are all the SAME "Desi" people........

In my experiance with Sikhs they feel more pride in being 'Sikh' then Indian. And Khalistan movement is evident in UK. Sikhs are whatever we might say "Indus people". They fall within the Indus basin. They are not Gangadeshi.
