LONDON: A group of 12 UK parliamentarians has written a letter to President Barack Obama urging him to stop the drone attacks in Pakistan, DawnNews reported.

In a letter, addressed to the US and the Nato, it was argued that the Britain and the Western countries are under threat because drone attacks provide justification for future terrorist activities.

The letter also claimed that innocent people were killed in the drone strikes.

The parliamentarians said that the attacks were creating hatred for the US amongst Pakistanis and they were also harming Pakistan’s sovereignty.

George Galway, Yasmin Qureshi, John Hemming, Jeraldko Famin, Paul Flain and Simon Disnek include members of House of Commons while Lord Nazir Ahmad, Lord Hussain, Lord Steel Acowood, Lord Jad, , Lord E Escadel and Lord Eubarry are from House of Lords who have signed the letter written to the US President.

Terrorist attacks provides justification for drone attacks.

You're creating more terrorists than you're killing. This equation does not favour the US at all.
I'm sure the American administration has already figured it out. They aren't that blind.

The question is: Why continue with a program that is definitely fuelling anti-Americanism?
Why is the US putting other countries at risk of increased terrorist threats alongwith itself?

At this point any policy Obama turns his back on in his administration will be used by the Republicans to try and show him being weak.

Another thing is, US Military-Industrial Complex likes such situation - drone strikes kill people > more terrorists created > more terrorists to kill > more drones and missiles to sell. And Republicians, by sound of it, are supporters of / supported by MIC.

Terrorist attacks create more drone attacks. Why is the terrorist attacks fueling more anti-Muslims?

Hmmm. It's like a vicious circle of destruction. Terrorist activites do inflame anti-Islamic sentiments, esp. in the Western hemisphere and is the main driving-force behind modern stereotyping of Muslims as ignorant, intolerant individuals. There is also a complete lack of understanding about Islam, its principles and teachings in Western countries.

well there is no biggest terrorist than usa's government.

killing innocent children is eliminating terrorism? grow up already.

then hitler was right too if this is the case.

Lets take it this way too sir "Drone attacks create more terrorist attacks, why is the drone attacks fuelling more anti- US/West sentiments?"

It is wrong either way.. Crux - Drones fly back to Afghanistan and it is the poor people in Pakistan who face revenge by the terrorists.

There are other ways too to deal the scum, for instance let the natives tackle them, this would not only allow riddance but also would help abolishing anti US sentiments among tribal people.

... Drones fly back to Afghanistan and it is the poor people in Pakistan who face revenge by the terrorists ...

Good point. We get attacked by drones and then we face retaliation by these terrorists for aiding the strikes.
We're getting hit from both sides. This is what we're trying to get through Pres. Obama's head. But I guess he's content with letting kids play video games.
