U.S. successfully tests weapons that can stop North Korean missiles

Two government officials told NBC News that White House officials have been informed about a sophisticated weapon that advocates believe could stop North Korean missiles.

What I can understand from this video is that North Korean Missile is a real threat and was very successful and none of the current US system is able to stop is because the proposed weapon is a difficult approach and North Korea has made USA return to thinking board.

They cannot the reentry speed from the altitude which missile achieved is very high for the missile to be intercepted. It could be tracked but not intercepted.

Yes they can. May have a spotchy record. 50% test rate, but they're literally designed to intercept ICBMS.
