One security person killed in bomb blast

RAWALAKOT, Jan 16 (APP): At least one security person embraced martyrdom as a security forces’ vehicle came under attack here on Saturday.

According to SSP Rawla Kot Sajjad Hussain a blast near security forces’ vehicle took place at Dothan area, 15 kilometers from here, which resulted in martyrdom of a securiy official while some others reportedly sustained injuries.

Injured have been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH). The SSP said it was apparently a suicide attack according to preliminary evidences.

President, PM condemn Rawalakot blast

ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday strongly condemned the suicide attack at a security forces’ vehicle in Dothaan area of Rawalakot, killing security personnel.

In his message, the President said the perpetrators of such heinous crime would not be spared. He expressed condolence over the loss of innocent lives and said the government was committed to root out terrorism from the country.

In a separate message, the Prime Minister said terrorists and extremists were the country’s biggest enemies and every effort would be made to eradicate them at all costs.

He asked the medical staff to ensure better treatment of the injured.
