Turkey's Foreign minister to visit India today.

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will make an official visit to India on Thursday, foreign ministry sources said on Wednesday.
According to sources, Çavuşoğlu will be in India from August 18 to 20 to discuss a number of issues and exchange ideas.
A roadmap between the Foreign Ministry of Turkey and the Foreign Ministry of India is also expected to be approved.
Last week, Turkey requested the New Delhi administration to close schools linked to the Gülenist terror cult, accused of leading the brutal failed coup attempt on July 15, which resulted in the deaths of over 240 people and injured over 2,000.
“The entire gamut of bilateral relations as well as multilateral and regional issues are likely to be discussed during the talks,” External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.
Cavusoglu will also call on Vice President Hamid Ansari on Friday. During his three-day visit, the Turkish Foreign Minister is also scheduled to visit Hyderabad on August 20 to open the Turkish Consulate building.
Relations between India and Turkey have witnessed steady progress. The bilateral trade is also increasing and touched $ 6.3 billion last year.
“We hope the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister will further strengthen our bilateral ties,” said Swarup.
