Turkey test its new naval radar "Çafrad"

Aselsan,Turkeys one of the best defence company test its indigenous naval radar "Çafrad".


Fist time we saw Çafrad in Idef 2015

then Idef 2017

And This is first prototype

Çafrad has 450km range and it can track more than 2000 targets at the same time

Çafrad will be used TF-2000 class air defence destroyers.

Four TF-2000 destroyer is enough to protect all turkish airspace.

With this project turkish navy will be much more powerful.And it will protect its number one position in region.

Importance of this project will be seen in east mediterranean a few years later

Air defence capability and air force are two different things.Israel is ahead of turkey when it comes to air defence capability.Because they have too small land and good air defence systems like arrow missiles thanks to usa.Israel have open access to american tech.
And turkey is doing well.Turkey is developing its domestic air defence system.you can search "Hisar air defence system" And hisar missiles have hit to kill capability even russian systems cant do this S-400 system use near explode.Turkish ones will be hit to kill.

I dont agree with you about air force.Turkey have one of the largest and modern air force in region.even in world Turkish air force still so powerful.Remember begining of the afrin olive branch turkish air force made an operation with more than 100 plane.number of air forces that can do that is not more than 5 or 6.and turkish air force is one of them.
Same goes about army too.

GaN transponder/receivers modules of ÇAFRAD will be manufactured by ABMikroNano module/chip institute which is a joint-venture between Aselsan and Bilkent university.

Aselsan is the manufacturer of its domestic T/R modules for Smart-S radar system!

TEIRS long range early warning radar is the land based variant of ÇAFRAD which is going to be delivered to Land Forces in 2019.

Yes israeli army and airforce needs to be credited for their high morale against palestinian civilians. Whole world knows what happened in Lebanon to them with the superior land and airforce facing hezbullah.
