Just when you thought the world couldn't get any worse ... Sean Spicer, press secretary to U.S. President Donald Trump, falsely claimed that Adolf Hitler did not use chemical weapons during World War II during a press briefing on Tuesday.
"We didn't use chemical weapons in World War II. You had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons," said Spicer, referencing the chemical attack launched by President Bashar Al Asaad in Syria last week.
The internet went wild, blasting him for the erroneous statement, reminding Spicer of the death of millions of Jews that were direct victims of gas chambers used at concentration camps.
Soon after, Spicer issued an apology saying he was not "trying to lessen the horrendous nature of the Holocaust," according to the New York Times.
"I was trying to draw a distinction of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on population centers.
Any attack on innocent people is reprehensible and inexcusable," he added.
People couldn't help but attack Spicer for even drawing such a comparison

Sean Spicer should be fired for saying Hitler did not use chemical weapons on "his own people.” You mean 6 million Jews don’t count?

I'm sure what Spicer "intended" to communicate was that Hitler never dropped nerve gas bombs on his own people, which would be true.

Spicer today said Hitler didn't use chemical weapons during WW2?
This is exactly why education has to be one of our top priorities.

Just don't mention Hitler at all. Even if you could go back in time and warn people about Hitler don't use Hitler to make your point.
