The government of Mexico is nothing of which to be to be proud. That the Mexican citizenry allow their society to operate in the thrall of organized drug and other criminal organizations is no one's fault but their own. The only reason that the USA needs an extreme barrier at its border with Mexico is because Mexican society would further engulf us in its dysfunction and misery if we don't find some way to protect ourselves.

Are you serious? Sure the mexican goverment has its fair share in responsibility but are we just gonna completely ignore the fact that all those Drugs go to US in exchange for weaponry?

As for the people, well if you are poor and have no opportunity for a job then you will do whats necessary to feed your family, most of those involved in the drug trade are exactly those people, or young unemployed who want to make money.

Drug consume and weapon export... Maybe the already existing dysfunction of US society is also a big factor in the drug war of Mexico.

What is the CIA doing in Afghanistan by participating in opium cultivation? It is funny Americans keep pointing fingers at the whole world yet never have the courage to look at their own faults. The world is sick and tired of American bitching and whining.

If there was no demand for those drugs, the organised crime would not exist.
