‘TIME TO FIGHT’ — Ultra-Rich Liberals Meet To Quietly Plot The Trump ‘Resistance’

The president of a secretive, left-wing dark money group told a Monday night, closed-door gathering of democratic operatives and ultra-rich liberals in D.C. the first step to dealing with a Trump presidency was “resistance.”

Gara LaMarche, the president of Democracy Alliance, gave opening remarks tinged with violent metaphors about kicking ***, putting on boxing gloves and fighting back against President-elect Trump.

The meetings are highly secretive and closed to the press.

“Fighting back is the first pledge,” he told the billionaire progressives meeting at the luxurious Mandarin Hotel in Washington, D.C. The speech was intended to set the tone for the three-day strategy meeting to deal with the debacle of the 2016 election.

LaMarche, a long-time progressive and close ally of billionaire funder George Soros, also expressed bewilderment of the election results, conceding they are “gathering in a haze of anger and grief and asking ourselves how it came to this.”

The group is filled with about 100 multi-millionaires and billionaires who are required to pony up at least $200,000 each year to participate in the group.

Between 2005 and 2014, the group is estimated to have given $500 million to progressive and radical activist groups according to Politico.

“I am done mourning. It is time to fight. It is time to get back up, put on some boxing gloves and hit back,” LaMarche told the assembled group last night.

With the election of Trump, LaMarche told the group the president-elect, “subconsciously raised a generation of kickass activists who know how to fight back.”

He called Trump, “An ignorant, dangerous, lying, crude, insecure, narcissistic, fraudulent bigot and misogynist received almost half of the votes of the American people and is now a few months away from following Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt and Barack Obama into the Oval Office.”

The 2016 election was “a catastrophe that threatens everything progressives have built.”

He said the group may finance the many the street demonstrations beginning to appear in liberal cities.

“Some activists are in the streets, and some of us may join them, now, or as the need arises, as it will, in the next four years.”

LaMarche reminded the ultra-rich audience their strength was in the wealth, telling them, “all of us need to reach deep into our wallets in the coming months.”

The problem with the Democrats is that they no longer represent the working class -- not just white working class. How can you when the party is controlled by rich elites who have no idea how the other half lives. Democrats use to be a party for the working people, but with the arrival of the Clintons, it became a corporate party, too busy schmoozing with the wealthy instead of the poor. I thought this is what's Republicans are for?

If you want to put up resistance to Trump, give something to the working class to make them vote for you.

Liberal billionaire George Soros is meeting behind closed doors with top Democrats to plot a resistance strategy against President-elect Donald Trump and Republicans.

The three-day conference began Sunday at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington, D.C., and is sponsored by deep-pocketed liberal members of the dark money Democracy Alliance donor network, Politico‘s Ken Vogel first reported. The group will seek to pick up the pieces from the 2016 election, plot its strategy for upcoming elections, and map out a game plan to battle Trump during his first 100 days in office.

“The first 100 days of a new presidency has become an important measure of the early success of a new administration,” the group’s agenda reads. “It’s a period typically seen as a time when monumental change can occur as the president, armed with the good will and political capital that comes with being the new president, is able to marshal new legislation through Congress.”


The agenda, which was drafted before the election, was geared toward a Hillary Clinton presidency. However, following Trump’s victory, the group shifted gears to figure out what happened in the election and ways of “combating the massive threats from Trump and Congress in 2017.”

The group will hold sessions mapping out intervention during upcoming elections at the national and state levels beginning in early 2017, with a goal of shifting “the terms of debate” and building “electoral capacity [and] candidate pipelines for 2018 and 2020.” Top Democrats such as Rep. Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), and Rep. Keith Ellison (Minn.) will make appearances at the conference.

“The 2016 election has upended much of what we thought we knew about American politics,” the agenda states. “It has shown a roiling discontent with the political establishment, and there is ferment in the air. Forces of reaction, caution, and progress will joust for power in the coming period.”

Panels are scheduled about combating climate change, using technological resources to cultivate citizen engagement, engaging millennials, ways to move a progressive policy agenda in 2017, LGBT equality, and strategy to win back the white working class vote in the future.

The group will also seek ways to form deeper and stronger alliances to advance a progressive agenda.

“Over the past several months, many events, including the summer’s tragic shooting in Orlando, have highlighted the myriad and complex ways that social identities and systems of oppression interact with one another. In order to advance our vision of a progressive America, we must understand the multidimensional nature of structural inequality and develop new ways of combating it.”

The Democracy Alliance donor network was created in 2005 and is the largest network of donors “dedicated to building the progressive movement in the United States.” The group is heavily involved in progressive policymaking, funding causes to push a liberal agenda, and organizing grassroots activities.

George Soros’ foundation did not immediately return a request for comment on the gathering.

It's enough to make one barf: the Trump-related stuff it's all about what went wrong with how they attempted to advance their purposes, defend their accomplishments, and frustrate America from succeeding under a Trump Administration..

Nothing at all about questioning their purposes and aims. Some democrats they are! This isn't 2008. Don't they realize that if they attempt to use the stalling tactics available to them in Congress they will merely energize Americans to vote 100% Republican in 2018 so no filibusters will be possible? Or that if they use their influence on world markets to attempt to induce an economic recession they will be caught?
