Thousands of people have fled their homes in North Waziristan fearing a military offensive against Taliban insurgents is imminent, residents and officials said on Sunday.
Residents said some 1,500 families or about 13,000 people left their villages around the towns of Mir Ali and Miranshah, to migrate to relatively safer areas outside the tribal areas in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar.
The exodus began last week when Pakistan Air Force fighter jets bombarded the area following a series of militant attacks on security forces and civilians which killed more than 100 people in a week.
North Waziristan is one of seven semi-autonomous regions in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) bordering Afghanistan and governed by tribal laws.
“Around 1,500 families and up to 13,000 people have left several villages in North Waziristan,” Rafiullah, 25, a resident of Musaki village in Mir Ali, told AFP by phone.
“People are unable to find houses to go to in Bannu, so many women, children and old men are lying out in the open. Many others have gone to Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan districts to find some shelter,” he said.
Government officials said that up to 8,000 people had arrived in Bannu, a town bordering North Waziristan.
“We can estimate up to 700 families and around 8,000 people have arrived in Bannu,” Arshad Khan, head of the FATA Disaster Management Authority, told AFP.
“No military operation has been announced in the tribal area. So there are no instructions to make arrangements for the internally displaced people,” he added.
Another government official in Miranshah said a military operation was not on the cards.
“No military operation is going to take place in Miranshah and Mir Ali. So people should not leave their houses and should stay there,” said Siraj Ahmed Khan, a senior administration official.

p.s.

there should be proper camps where IDPs be made to stay, if they spread across the country, its very likely that among the civilians, talibs would sneak out too.

Express tribune, can print the picture of a destroyed Mosque after death of TTP but they never printed the various mosques attacked by TTP.

BTW, why not tribune took picture of thousands fleeing and fleeing to where?

Why PTI choose to propagate this false news?

Even mosques were not spared. It seems PA is really pissed.

According to The Wall Street Journal:

A mosque in the village of Esori, near the town of Mir Ali, was also hit. Residents said local and foreign militants had made the mosque their base for the past year and 15 of them were killed in the airstrike.

Religious thugs and **** Mullahs have made a few mosque like structures in NWA their hideouts. So, they are good targets if we get 15 of TTP & IMU pigs in one hit.

After that they start crying "innocent civilian" killings along with Imran Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other traitors.... :laughcry:

What a selective caption, was it only one bomb? if not than where are the other sites of bombs and where are the locals?

The IDPs need to be properly resetteled.
Where are the IDP? Do you have any reports so far? Bombing hasn't started and public is already started painting murky pictures!!!! :hitwall:

Army should press a head and continue hot pursuit across durrand line.

Mosques can be rebuilt, lives lost to terrorist bombing are lost forever. Necessary evil.

You must not forget that all this shit started only after Red mosque operation. Even we lost our PM for ordering to take out terrorists from Golden temple.

One' religious sentiments should not to be messed with. Blowback could be even more devastating.

@BATMAN

Can you disprove these claims?
ANY Proofs?
I would not believe every thing on Pak media, my statement is enough evidence of my disbelief.
I do believe there may be displacement as a result of war but not by a one bombing of Pakistani jets.
Americans and Iranians regularly bomb Pakistan's border villages and cities but no displacement was ever reported.
Since, you went step further and demanded rehabilitation, of so called thousands displaced by tribune.
I simply asked, where are actually the displaced? why are they invisible? and why they started to move after many days being passed?
