This Jawaan tells how Pakistan took back Chhamb sector from India twice!

This jawaan tells how Pakistan army won the Chhamb Sector twice from India in 1965 and 1971:

This was a good start but a shocking Pakistani failure to lead a local tactical success to a decisive strategic victory.

As the Colonel mentioned - Akhnoor was the objective. Had that been taken, the Kashmir Valley would have fallen. Instead, after reaching Tawi the PA waited for 2 full days while the IA redeployed its forces for defense.

'Under the Simla Agreement, signed between India and Pakistan on 2 July 1972; Pakistan retained the territory it captured in the Chamb sector whereas India retained the territory it captured on the Pakistani side of the ceasefire line opposite the Kargil sector.'

General Iftikhar Khan Janjua Shaheed was probably one of the best field generals Pakistan ever had. Rest in peace Shaheed.
