We are pleased to witness courageous women in Swat dedicated to higher education and building a career for themselves. It was such a short time ago when the Taliban that took over Swat Valley bombed schools and stopped education for girls such as the ones mentioned and interviewed in this article below. Hopefully soon life for the people of Swat will return to the way people want it to be.
BBC News - After the Taliban: Swat women on changing life
Based on an absurd ideology these terrorists believe that women should not attend schools. For those of you, who are Muslims and have the knowledge, could you explain to us whether such an ideology, to stop women from educating themselves, is taught in Islam? If this is not the case, then shouldnt we join hands in defeating such barbarians so we can protect the rights of our sisters and daughters? Those wives, mothers, sisters and daughters who are and can be our motivation, support and the basis of our progress in the world.
We support and wish for more and more children in Pakistan, both girls and boys, to attend schools and work towards achieving progress, peace and prosperity in their country and around the world.
