" Dawn is the oldest and most widely read English language newspaper in my country. It, preceded Pakistan’s independence by five years," he said adding that they had been punished in the past for publishing independent views and authentic stories, but had somehow survived and overcome most obstacles.

The Dawn Media Group also operates a 24/7 News TV channel called Dawn News and publishes a number of journals, the most prominent of which is the monthly political magazine called Herald.
