Tesla starting to open up the floodgates.

Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla is going to expand its Full Self-Driving beta software to Canada and Norway.

As we have been reporting extensively over the last few weeks, Tesla has started pushing an early beta (alpha really) of its “Full Self-Driving” software.

The update adds autonomous turns in intersections and auto lane changes on city streets.

Combined with Navigate on Autopilot, drivers can set a destination, and the car will try to autonomously navigate to the location, but it requires the driver to monitor the driving and be ready to take control at all times.

For now, the update is only available to a select few Tesla owners in the early access program in the US as part of an “early beta.”

Now, Elon Musk says that the next markets to get the “FSD” software update will be Canada and Norway:

Canada and Norway are next after we get US out of early beta!
Musk linked the launch in those markets to getting the software out of “early beta” in the US, which he previously said should happen in December.

Launching in new markets can be challenging as different markets have different road markings and signs as well as different road regulations.

Here’s what Tesla has to say about the FSD beta in the release notes of the update:

Full Self-Driving is in early limited access Beta and must be used with additional caution. It may do the wrong thing at the worst time, so you must always keep your hands on the wheel and pay extra attention to the road. Do not become complacent.
When Full Self-Driving is enabled your vehicle will make lane changes off highway, select forks to follow your navigation route, navigate around other vehicles and objects, and make left and right turns. Use Full Self-Driving in limited Beta only if you will pay constant attention to the road, and be prepared to act immediately, especially around blind corners, crossings, intersections, and in narrow driving situations.

Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta wider release coming in just a few weeks, it’s both scary and exciting

According to the latest timeline, Tesla could be just two weeks away from its wider release of its Full Self-Driving Beta.

The prospect of the software update going to more people is both scary and exciting at the same time.

Last month, Tesla started to release its first Full Self-Driving Beta software update to a limited group of owners to test the feature.

The feature enables autonomous turns on city streets and links to Tesla’s Navigate on Autopilot features, delivering a virtually feature-complete self-driving system except for the fact that drivers need to constantly monitor it and be ready to take control at all times.

It’s the very first version of Tesla’s long-promised self-driving capability that they have been selling for years through their “Full Self-Driving package.”

Currently, it is only being tested in Tesla’s early access program for a limited group of owners, but CEO Elon Musk has been guiding that it will be expanded to the wider fleet by the end of the year.

Now Musk says that Tesla could be ready to do a wider release in about two weeks:

However, the CEO didn’t specify how wide the update is going to be and if it’s only in the US.

Musk also said that Canada could get the new features in December.

Self driving is the future. Less accidents, no road rage, no jams etc.
I know people say that they like driving, but do others like your driving?

easy to hack as well

There's a lot of things you could do.

1) Fill it full of explosives and send it to some location

2) Create "troll mode" and have it drive through big puddles splashing pedestrians all day. Have it drive around somebody's house blaring some obnoxious song and honking horn.

3) Have it search late at night on spooky deserted roads for ghosts, aliens, bigfoot, and Jason. Hell just troll them too. Beep horn and flash lights on those roads...especially near creepy old cemeteries and abandoned haunted houses.

Well I guess that makes life easy for your premier intel agency.
