Tea Was Fantastic But The Break is Not Impressive !

This is a formation of MiG-21s on Indian Airforce's Day being led by Wing Commander Abhinandan. The IAF pilot was made to showboat after his return from Pakistan where he was shot down by the Pakistan Air force and later captured by the troops on the ground.
To carry out this exercise, no doubt Abhinandan along with his wingmen must have done several rehearsals runs for the big day. After being in the news for several months, Abhinandan's return was something of a highlight for the Indians during the flypast. However, it seems that despite all the efforts and trials, Abhinandan's formation failed to synchronize their break and the formation was in a bit of disarray. Suffice to say the formation break wasn't fantastic.

I saw the video. I think he was lead in this. The formation break was very poor.

He probably instinctively went to eject, but then realised there were no PAF aircraft in the air that explains the delay in the break.

Yes he was allegedly leading the MiG-21 formation and if you have seen the video then you must have noticed that none of the other formations involved were exactly perfect and while all of them broke off while pumping out flares, didn't see what was the purpose of shooting flares into the air from the ground.
