Hello everyone,

For sometime now I've been thinking of getting a tiny tattoo done on my wrist. But it's banned in the country(UAE) that I live in...or so I heard.
True???
Recently I heard that a guy(Indian) who had got a job offer in UAE was denied visa as he had a tattoo on his shoulder...this I heard from a reliable source. His tatoo was NOT a religious symbol or offensive in any other way.

I have often seen ppl flaunting their tatoos in UAE, so am baffled why would the authorities bar anyone from entering UAE merely because of his/her tattoo ?

Since am in India now, I thought I would get one done before returning to UAE. I will have to wait for another one year(when I return to India) if I don't get it done now. So that's one reason I decided to post this thread.

I hope members here will be able to help me.

@mods I posted this thread here to get more response.

I won't be surprised if did that, heck they arrest people for FB posts.

I want mine to be a tiny symbol of either a scorpion, but that would look too wild for a corporate trainer. So I have settled for a new symbol of infinity and flying birds now.
The symbol with flying birds in it, 3rd from top. :-)

I meant that's when it might get noticed.
even if doctor notices, why would he report? You have option of going to any authorized clinic to get report right?

Nice, but does it hurt? I am sure it does!! And is it permitted in Forces? I know US recently permitted them with certain condition. Also we accept persons from tribal with tattoos.

As far as I know, this is your personal matter and u should not have any problem with visa in regards to Tatoo...

Lol
No I was serious.

Lol
Won't help because for visa renewal I'll have to go through a thorough medical checkup soooo.
your medical has nothing to do with your Tatoo...

Tatoo ! :o:

Oh @levina apa its tattoo ! :tsk:

Engreeziii na aaneiii par visa deny honaa chahiyeee ! :disagree:
Corrected!
Don't know what goes wrong with my auto correct at times. I am assuming if I type a wrong spelling more than once then iOS takes the word to be correct and autocorrect's the original word, in short my auto correct adapts itself to my wrong spellings.

Right!!!
But that incident where a guy was denied entry into UAE due to his tattoo has made me apprehensive.

Yes, she was deported because she had posted a pic of a car which was wrongly parked across two disabled parking spaces. The authorities said she was arrested for her obscene comment on FB but the truth is they were hurt when an expat exposed behaviour of locals in UAE (they have all the liberty in the country).
Nice, but does it hurt?
Lesser than an epilator I guess. :)

@ranjeet
Right!
That's why I want someone to confirm if it is really allowed or not?
Hehehe

Yes and yes.

The guy I am talking about got a job offer in Emirates airlines. But it's said he was denied a visa because of his tatoo. Infact, he was asked to get it removed before he joined the company.
