How intense is crime in Karachi? Is every millionaire threatened to give money? Is it safe for people to set up businesses there? Mumbai was once like this only;mafia and politicians worked together. It became a big nuisance. Thanks to shivasena and Maharashtra police that underworld has been wiped off the city.As long as politicians are there with these mafia dons no one can do anything. This reduction in violence will only be a temporary phase if those dons have the backing of politicians.

lets say..
move to a MQM dominated area.
next day, First you'll be told Who your relatives are.
Then they tell you where and what they work.
Then they tell you where your childern study and their names.
Then they tell you how much of income you got.
Then they tell you how many properties you own and where you just moved from.
Then they tell you to give you 100rs a day to keep yourself safe from them exploiting that.

This happens in all parts of Karachi, except the military run areas and all parties/gangs are involved; in Urdu speaking areas it's MQM extorting money, in Pukhtun areas it's TTP or ANP extorting money, in Baloch areas it's gangsters like Uzair Baloch and Rehman Dacoit type people extorting money, in Sindhi areas it's waderas and PPP extorting money and then there are areas where "Islamic" parties extort money.

All parties are involved in these crimes
