It's not that I love bugging people to read my writing by constantly posting in the national political views section. It's not something that I have become addicted do. It's just that things are happening which piss me off so bad and are so wrong that I feel I MUST put my thought across.
There are alot of perspectives and ideologies that our minds does not always take into consideration. That is why I type. I do not think of myself as a know it all. I just think people will get influenced by the bullshit that is dished out on media; it always happens. I should know because I have been a victim of it too. And I genuinely believe that by expressing your views one can make a difference.
I believe that all the media sensationalism is already turning minds into directions which lead to a dead-end or end at a cliff. What happened in Swat was tragic indeed, but what exactly happened that brought the whole nation into a rage? I will talk about everything without any emotional attachment, because frankly speaking ... this incident must be looked at objectively in comparison with alot of other things.
A girl was flogged. 34 times in public. I had expressed my sentiments that what happened was wrong, it was terrible, but opinions must not be radicalised. That was important to any possible development on any issue. I say this because if you look at the incident objectively, worse things have happened in that area. Far worse things.
So ever wonder why a video appears AFTER the peace talks, when it was actually shot in January? The explanation given is that the video was 'picked' up on the internet. Intelligence agencies donot just PICK up videos. Their systems are highly efficient, with specifically designed softwares to scourge and extract all relevant material from the internet. You just dont STUMBLE across a video.
Many members have commented on the cruelty and lack of understanding of Islam of the people there. I am glad I did not write a hate article against Taliban because somewhere in my mind, there were some questions that were unanswered and I've found very satisfying answers to them recently. This is why I said I had been a victim of media sensationalism too.
That video, was shown without a degree of confirmation that whether the video was fake or was it not fake. People pounced on that video violently, as if they were looking for a chance to exploit this issue. I did not suggest any radical move to counter that problem as people who were doing that on the forum and MQM folk of Karachi who at present are looking nothing more than idiots who are desperate to grab attention whenever they could.
It disappointed me to see their reaction, it was like of a child whose Eid had come early. They proved that they are one of the most opportunist parties in Pakistan; who actually thrive on calamities of the nation. Media reports insist the video was shot in January, but the BHAI insists that NO! IT IS AFTER THE PEACE DEAL! How ruthless can one get to exercise their words over the general public? How ironic that HE of all people has the nerve to call Talibans PREDATORS. And how ironic that he suggests an un-constitutional punishment to the Talibans for an un-constitutional act commited by them. Suggesting they be hanged and their bodies be displayed dead publicly for flogging a girl is outrageous and only worthy of a man who has always thrived on violence and playing with hearts n emotions of his loving public.
I am sick of the money-making business our media is running. Seen objectively, the flogging is nothing compared to the **** that happens in our country. If flogging it is, then the first thing parties need to stage nation wide protests is against Police jails. For every authority is aware what happens with women in police cells
I have been reading articles and one I read of Oria Maqbool convinced me and answered alot of my un-answered questions that our media did not bother to raise. He speaks with a 19 year experience in Film making and editing and 10 years experience in Criminal Departments. He saw that video along with all his film editing software and took apart alot of mistakes and doubts in the video. If anyone needs proof, I will be happy to provide a link. He wrote in Express News, that with a camera that has such a poor blurry result, the voices are unbelievablly clear; as if someone is speaking on a mic. He also raises a valid question that I was thinking too - 34 lashes. A MAN would struggle to walk after being lashed 10 times, the whip more or less rips into your skin and pulls it off. Yet that SEVENTEEN yr girl received 34 lashes; she's screaming like she is about to die and yet she gets up and walks off just like a film scene has been shot where there is an emotional scene and the heroine is crying and as the shot is called off, she starts to relax and laugh. He says he talked to the people who live there, and the Commissioner of Malakand Syed Muhammad Javed swears on ALLAH that this event did not happen in Swat. The strongest reason he gives is that the language is not what the people of Swat speak. The video has been shot with such expertise, that it only shows those 4 people involved in the action and even there faces are OUT OF FOCUS, and no other face is shown ... one can only see the feet and shins at the max, of the crowd around this event. There is a high probability of the video being fake. Alot of people are already convinced that is true.
If any one of you wants to feel ashamed, feel ashamed of your media that has sold their souls to the devil. Hold a grudge against them for they are the ones that are in the race of showing who broke the news first ! I am not denying that things like this not happen. They might happen in reality. But think about it objectively. Did it deserve the coverage it got? Did it deserve the opportunist methods of Muttehda and the crap galore that the media propagated? Are there not worse things happening in the country that no one gives a damn about reporting? How about the son of an ex-minister with the White Corolla case ? How about the women abuse in jails ? How about the thousands of people that have been killed by our security forces and the man-less monsters that hover over OUR territories ? How come none of the media and Political parties staged a country-wide protest against THOSE problems?
For once, ignore your personal aims and see what the country is going through. It's easy for us, people living in safe cities apparently to condemn this bullshit. However, it wont be long before ALLEGEDLY, main Pakistani cities will be proclaimed Talibanised as well and there will be drones over major cities too. Is THAT what you're waiting for?
I have to give accreditation to a very good friend for this article.
