PESHAWAR: The Peshawar police has foiled a massive terrorist act on Tuesday when it arrested a thirteen year old boy along with his operator and the bomb-disposal squad successfully diffused an explosive vest strapped around the teenager, reportedly trying to explode it at a fuel station, DawnNews reported.

According to initial reports, the young boy of around 13 years of age, tried to detonate a suicide vest strapped around him at a fuel station in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa capital.

Our correspondent Zahir Shah Sherazi added the suicide bomber is recognised as Bilal who belongs to Bar Qambarkhel area of Bara while his operator Jehangir, in his 20s, is stated to be a resident of Momin Town on Dalazak Road, Peshawar.

From the Newspaper | Fauzee Khan Mohmand | 19 hours ago

GHALANAI, Nov 19: Jamaat-i-Islami’s former chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed escaped unhurt after a suicide attack by a woman near his motorcade in Mohmand tribal region on Monday. Three people suffered minor injuries. The JI termed the incident handiwork of CIA’s agents allegedly active in the area.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa JI chief Prof Muhammad Ibrahim said in a statement that his party would continue its efforts to end what he called US meddling in Pakistan’s affairs.

According to Assistant Political Agent Jamshed Khan, the JI caravan was going to Haleemzai tehsil where Qazi Hussain Ahmed was to inaugurate the party’s office and announce at a rally the nomination of Qari Fazal Subhan as JI’s chief of Mohmand chapter.

The attacker blew herself up at Ghiba Chowk near a security post manned by Khasadar and Levies personnel on Khapakh Road. Witnesses said Qazi Hussain was in the second vehicle in the caravan while the car hit by the attacker was behind it.

Shoaib, driver of Fata JI general secretary Munsif Khan, and two guards, one of them identified as Sher Zaman, were injured.

The vehicle hit was damaged and windowpanes of Qazi Hussain’s vehicle were shattered.

The APA said the bomber was wearing a white burqa and her limbs had been collected.

Qazi blames ‘American agent’ for attack
From the Newspaper | Fauzee Khan Mohmand | 16 hours ago

GHALANAI, Nov 19: Terming suicide attack on his convoy in Mohmand Agency an act of ‘American agent’, Jamaat-i-Islami former chief Qazi Hussian Ahmad has said that his party will continue political activities in tribal areas to frustrate nefarious designs of enemies.

Addressing a public gathering at Khapakh locality in Heleemzai tehsil on Monday, he said that the US and its allies wanted to create law and order situation in the tribal areas to prolong their presence in the region.

He alleged that the US and other anti-Islam forces had formed a network of their agents in the tribal areas to harm interests of Pakistan and pit tribal people against each other.

On the occasion, the office of Jamaat-i-Islami in Mohmand Agency was inaugurated and name of new chief of the party in the tribal region was announced.

Qazi Hussain addressed the public meeting despite a suicide attack on his convoy. He said that through such cowardly acts they couldn’t be stopped from running their campaign. He said that they would expose America to Pakistani nation as well as the whole world.

“This is my third visit within a year to Mohmand tribal region. It shows the interest being taken by my party in the backward area,” the former chief of Jamaat-i-Islami said.

He also criticised the government for its pro-America policies. He said that people were the ultimate sufferers of the so-called war against terrorism. He said that the prevailing crises would continue if the government didn’t sever ties with America and come out of the war against terrorism.

Qazi Hussain said that the worsening law and order was badly affecting economy of the country. He said that the US considered itself champion of human rights bit it was openly supporting Israeli air strikes against the innocent Palestinians.

The JI leader said that Israel and India were enemies of Pakistan. “It is the need of the hour to review our foreign policy,” he said. He urged Muslims to forge unity to foil conspiracies being hatched against them by Israel and its mentors.

JI Fata chief Haroon Rashid, Mohmand former chief Saeed Khan, Dr Munsif Khan and new chief of JI in Mohmand Qari Fazle Subhan also addressed the gathering.

JI loses ex-student leader to N. Waziristan drone strike | DAWN.COM

PESHAWAR, Aug 24: Jamaat-i-Islami has perhaps suffered the first drone casualty as its former student leader was killed in the US pilotless aircraft attack along with his wife near Miramshah town in North Waziristan Agency last Monday (August 20).

JI chief in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and former Senator Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan confirmed Raja Ahsan Aziz and his family’s association with the party but didn’t provide details.

“Raja Ahsan had been with mujahideen (holy worriers) in North Waziristan Agency since long. I don’t know more about his background,” he said.

Sources close to Raja said he had been associated with the Taliban since 2002.

Former JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad and other leaders of the party on Thursday rushed to Azad Kashmir and attended Raja’s funeral prayers in absentia.

According to locals, Raja was killed after a CIA-operated drone fired missiles on a house in Shna Khwara area on Miramshah-Datakhel Road on August 20. They said the house was constructed in a forest covered area adjacent to a seminary.

Raja, his wife and four people died and four suffered injures in the strike.

According to reports, Raja belonged to Mirpur in Azad Kashmir and had been living with family in North Waziristan since long.

By profession, he was engineer and completed his graduation from Mirpur Engineering University in 1996. He had served as nazim (head) of Islami Jamiat Talba, student wing of JI in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, between 1993 and 1995.

He later became member of the IJT shura (council). His father, Abdul Aziz, who had served in Pakistan Navy, was also elected president of JI, Mirpur district.

In the past, key Al Qaeda figures were arrested at the houses of the people, who were or remained active activists of JI or its affiliated bodies.

According to reports, Al Qaeda top leader Khalid Sheikh Mohammad was arrested at the house of former JI leader Farzana Qudoos in Rawalpindi, while two Al Qaeda suspects were taken into custody during a raid on the house of JI leader in Karachi.

Qazi Hussain insisted that Raja was not member of the party though his father, Abdul Aziz, and other family members were its very active workers.

“Raja remained in Islami Jamiat Talba long before, but presently he had no association with the party,” he said.

The former JI chief said his party considered all those killed by drones ‘martyrs’. He said it was the state’s responsibility to stop foreign aggression and provide protection to its people.

When asked what Raja was doing in North Waziristan Agency when he belonged to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he replied: “I don’t want to go into this debate.”

However, a security analyst, who wished not to be named, said the JI-affiliated groups had sufficient presence in tribal areas, where they were playing a very active role.

He said the party disassociated itself from activists taking part in cross-border insurgency in order to avoid criticism or dispel the impression of its direct ties with such organisations.

A state regulated by religion is a failure.

Islam does not approve all this, the self appointed Mullahs do!

take your pick!

selfish politicians who are not letting the truth known to the pakistanis? for the sake of thier power & for thier votes ?

the MMA re-ignited nationalist rebellion in Balochistan and religious extremism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. With the active support of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s MMA government in addition to their continuing capacity to indoctrinate people, acquired three fearsome capacities by 2007. Most significant was their capacity to capture territory.
The third capacity related to undertaking violent attacks throughout Pakistan. While this third capacity inflicted serious damage, it nevertheless provided lesser strategic ability than the other capacities to mould the country in the extremists’ image.

politicians — like Imran Khan, Qazi Hussain Ahmed nawaz sharif mulana fazul-rehman and other leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami —some of them with absolutely no representation in the parliament have started a propaganda campaign against the Army operations, demoralising and confusing people who have been displaced from Swat and are now living in different parts of urban pakistan?
but still none of the mentioned politicians accept this grave crime of them as thier frist hand fault for the sake of newly created vote banks ?

A great mass of people were kept ignorant of the tyranny perpetrated by MMA during its three-year rule in power. On almost all issues of public interest, the cleric of Lal Masjid, Sufi Mohammad of TTP and political leadership of religious right remain on the same wave length.

On top of their agenda are school girls and women, denying them the right to life and liberty.

They entertain similar outlook on culture and art. In Upper Dir and Lower Dir the Jamaat used to run a good number of FM radio channels preaching jihad, and torching of VCRs, TVs and CDs had become a regular sport. They also share the same vision about art and culture. The students of Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba objected to the use of music by the students of Visual Arts in Karachi University and wrecked the furniture and other material demanding closure of the department.

It is not difficult to see the alliance of religious right parties with the terrorists. They have the same mindset to impose their own brand of Islam on others. It is time people were freed from their clutches.
if not we will see a army of 5 years old as a suicide attackers growing in KPK, for sure?

blame the government for its cowardice and for its corruption......blame the terrorist factions and their sponsors for the violence

we had an elected minister (who fails at his own job) issue a fatwa against some mental patient in California and yet he wasnt fired for talking in that manner.....this is the haal

i think these people lead to confuse
