Nine killed several injured in suicide attack at checkpost in Bajaur Agency

PESHAWAR, Jan 30 (APP): Nine persons, including two security officials, were killed and scores of people were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a checkpost of Bajaur Levy in main bazaar on Saturday. According to an official of Political Administration, the blast occurred in main bazaar when a suicide bomber, blew himself up when two security officials were carrying out his body search.

The bazaar was full of tribesmen at the time of blast and if the bomber had crossed the check post, the casualties could be much more, added the official.

He said the injured were rushed to Agency headquarters hospital in Khar where emergency has been declared.

The many injured patients would be rushed to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar by political administration, he added.

The official said more deaths are feared because a large number of tribesmen were present in the bazaar at the time of blast.

He said severed head and legs of the teenage suicide bomber were collected by the security forces and search operation has been started in the area.
