Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) today appealed to the affluent class of the society to strengthen the local Baitul Maals so that affected people could be extended help.
“People wholeheartedly and willingly share the brunt of these harsh days and support this people’s movement to their maximum. Everybody including traders, employees, transporters, students, farmers and daily earners has sacrificed their life and livelihood in the interest of the sacred mission of Azadi. I am aware of the fact that in these trying circumstances our transporters brethren in labour class is affected most especially bus owners, drivers, auto and sumo owners and they are facing the hardest days of their life. I am fully aware of the hardships, of our nation in general and these people in particular, have to face,” Geelani said in a statement.
“I appeal the in-charge of the local Bait-ul-Maals to assess their requirements and help them on priority basis. In case their own Bait-ul- Maals run short of funds they should approach the well-off units in their close vicinity and arrange for the needy people,” Geelani, in a statement today, said.
“The current uprising had entered the third month now and New Delhi and state administration, as always, were in denial of the ground realities. But we as a nation need to the optimistic and by the grace of Almighty Allah the Indian brute force will come to an end and we will Insha Allah get rid of this forcible military control,” he said.
Meanwhile, Geelani according to party statement today telephonically addressed public gatherings at Kralpora and his native village Duroo, Sopore. He alleged that at the venue “armed forces and local police resorted to indiscriminate shelling, burning of tents, taking away the sound system and thrashing people.”
“By the brutalities and un-paralleled force used on unarmed people, New Delhi and its local stooges have achieved nothing in the past and will not achieve anything in future also. Their shameful and deceitful acts have strengthened our resolve for our basic right-- right to self-determination,” Geelani said.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) spokesperson in a statement said Geelani has been invited to attend the Annual Coordination Meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers and Contact Group on Kashmir at the UN Headquarters in New York from September 19-22.
