Really disturbing watching these ordinary streets from over hundred years ago.

Yeah if you look at it from a historical perspective like we do a 100 years ago is pretty short then again the average life span of human being is only like 77 years old but like I said folks wore it better 100 years back we all look like slop jobs now sadly

LOL,I actually never heard about that, however doing some research I learned the "Rue de l'Avenir" was a moving sidewalk installed during the 1900 World Fair in Paris.

It was designed by American engineers Schmidt and Silsbee, inventors of the moving sidewalk at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.

It was called "Rue de l'avenir" (Street of the future) because it was imagined that the streets of the future would be made as such. :agree:

No, not from that perspective. But if you look at these cities [exception being Jerusalam] which clearly is a eastern city the rest actually have better cityscpes then typical Pakistani cities today. That is sad.

You cant really just blame Pakistani cities like that tbh most cities in South Asia are not decent cityscapes again problems of overpopulation causes that problem

Comparing with filthy Gangus is hardly comforting, is it?

It sucks but South Asian countries be it Pakistan,India or Bongastan are still suffering from the whole post-colonial stress I say India has the disease the worse a lil bit more no its not comforting to compare to the Ganghus but our countrymen have this weird love/hate with them which is annoying at times

whole post-colonial stress
That excuse is lame. Afghanistan next door was not colonized, have you see the state of it even before the wars? Stone age. The Brits., left 70 years when arguably South Asia was cleaner and tidier. Karachi 1900s ..

Rapid urbanisation thats why Pakistani cities and Indian cities are filthy and overcrowded.

The country was not equipped with to deal with such a enormous migration of people from rural areas to the city.

Coupled with corruption and poor city planning leads to crappy city.
