Sri Lankan business delegation to visit Pakistan
A Sri Lankan delegation comprising prominent businessmen will soon visit Pakistan so that a direct businessman to businessman contact can be established for enhancing trade amongst the two countries.
Sri Lankan Minister for Industry and Commerce, Rishad Bathiyutheen said this during the meeting with Senior Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim who is currently on a visit to Sri Lanka.
According to a message received here on Tuesday, Senior Minister for Commerce, Mr. Makhdoom Amin Fahim stated that Pakistan gives great importance to business relations with Sri Lanka and strongly believes that there is a tremendous opportunity for trade amongst the two countries.
He further stated that Sri Lanka was the first country with which Pakistan signed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and positive working steps should be taken to enhance trade.
Sri Lankan Minister for Industry and Commerce stated that Sri Lankan market provides great opportunity for Pakistani products especially fruits and vegetables.
In the end, Sri Lankan Minister for Industry and Commerce thanked Senior Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim on behalf of his Government for the role Pakistan is playing in the prosperity and development of his country.
Earlier upon his arrival, Senior Minister for Commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim was warmly welcomed and greeted by his Sri Lankan counterpart along with high officials of Sri Lankan Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Ms. Seema Illahi Baloch was also present during the meeting.
