If there are any two campaigns of WW 2 that are worth reading they are Ruso German and Burma campaign.

Both stand out for the tenacity of the defender and resilience of the Generals involved - Zukov & Slim.

Yes N Africa is also educative but in Burma & Russia both Britain & Russia suffered complete routs and rose from the ashes by the dint of their courage, The Burma campaign was by & large the ' forgotten war' as compared to that of Europe.
