Well Dr Samar Mubarakmand was once again on Capital talk on 3rd of January 2012 and told about his last project. He claimed his project was successful and they are generating about 60 million square feet of gas since last December. He also claimed he was promised $115 million dollars for the project and only $10 million dollars has been received since last 2 years and that is the key reason for delay of this project.

He further said that the gas crisis could be overcome in 1 year if the government is willing to invest between 1 - 1.5 billion dollars. Watch this video after 14 minutes

Its such a shame that Pakistan is sitting on heaps of resources but suffering due to mismanagement of the Rulers

only shortterm solyution is to import gas..
today we are running on furnace oil which is htree times expensive then gas..
so in short term govt should immediately make infrastruture to import gas, this would take at best 100-200 million dollars..it would safe us huge foreign exchange ..but oil mafia doesnt want govt to switch to gas..

in midterm we should focus on thar

in long term we should think about hydrel projects..

a basha dam can produced 4500MW and bunji 7500MW, kalabagh 4600mw..
these three projects along with extension of tarbela to (1300mw),mangla (600mw) and nelam jehlum proj (1500mw) will not only solve the imminent flood problem(cost us 10 billion dollars!!!!) but will also produce enough electricity(25000MW+) to completly shift on hydral ..

this can be done if govt gives incentives to foreign companies regarding dams.....but it willt ake time..atleast 10 years..
during this time govt should first focus on gas(because its 3 times cheaper than oil) and coal(its 8 times cheaper than oil but will take few years)
