Six policemen suspended in City Courts shootout

KARACHI: Six policemen were suspended due to negligence of duty in the City Courts shootout which resulted in the escape of four suspected militants.
According to details, six to eight gunmen attacked the police on the court premises and freed the militants belonging to the Jundallah from police custody. One of the fleeing suspects and a policeman were killed during the exchange of fire.
Sindh Police Inspector General (IG), Sultan Salahuddin Babar Khattak, issued a notification for the immediate suspension of the six police officials responsible for the custody of the escaped militants.
SP court police Dr Mohammad Najeeb Khan, DSP court police Inspector Ghulam Fareed SHO City Courts Inspector Shaukat Raza, In charge City Courts lock-up Sub-Inspector Riaz Mughal, court police constables Manzoor and Imran Nazir were among the suspended officials.
