Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has yet again made us proud by winning the Emmy Award for the best documentary.

The Oscar winning filmmaker won the outstanding documentary award on Thursday at the 38th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards for A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness. Sharmeen prviously won an Oscar for her Best Documentary – Short Subject: Saving Face.
A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness sheds lights on the subject of honour killings. It received nominations in three categories; Best Documentary, Outstanding Short Documentary and Outstanding Music and Sound.
