The Sharifs have historically never been traitors at all, not in the least bit but when an unbelievably lucrative business opportunity came knocking from the neighborhood, their subsequent actions made them take some steps that left the observers of history flabbergasted and subsequently the exposure of Sharifs at the hands of Judiciary, left their considerable unexplained wealth exposed as well but that's besides the subject of this post.

While the lucrative business opportunity still hangs in the limbo and those who were pushing it from across the border, curse the Pakistan Army and political opponents of Nawaz Sharif all the more at every opportunity. I am sure you would find a plausible explanation for it in this post.

The political allies and opponents of Sharifs have been saying it since long. The now known economic pirates have a history of political betrayal of varied degrees, but political betrayal is nothing compared to what is about to be explained here.

After their exile abroad and subsequent return came knocking an opportunity that exposed their preference of doing personal family business with the enemy over going cold on Kashmir and their seemingly suicidal effort to bring Army under control.

No one can forget the growing hostility between Sharifs and the Army that peaked with Dawn leaks and the confusion within general PMLN leadership ranks about the real reasons for it, well, Sharifs knew exactly what it was about.

Once again, let me connect the dots.

Who can forget Nawaz Sharif leaking the identity of Mumbai Terror attack perpetrator Ajmal Kassab to American journalist. Link:

Nawaz Sharif Offered me to buy an iPhone so ISI couldn't listen

Nawaz Sharif wanted to score two birds with one arrow, woe Kim Baker who said the man wanted her as a special friend, while strengthening India's narrative against Pak Army...so it backs off and Sharif becomes stronger.

To him, the stakes meant that it was a gamble worth taking, that it became a bone that got stuck in his neck as things went from bad to worse with the Army and subsequently Panama leaks arrived, was nothing short of divine Makafateamal.

Why did Nawaz put his premiership on the line and want to become stronger than his own benefactors in establishment? Let me refer back to what the lucrative deal on offer was.

There was a small matter worth billions, of making way for Jindal-Sharif deal to ferry Iron ore from mines in Afghanistan to India within 48-72 hours worth of short route Via Pakistan instead of the longer Chabahar, Iran sea route that takes more than a months time and at manifold the cost when compared with the shortest Pakistan route. Barkha Dutts revelations about Nawaz Jindal relationship and what's on stake

All Nawaz Sharif had to do was bring army under control, give India the upper hand and the family gets to reap the benefits of iron ore ferry commission for life. Remember, easy money makes Sharif wind - they didn't even spare Earth quake donations - there had to be a treasure trove worth at stake to put their premiership on the line.

For the nay Sayers - Go ahead and search the sudden close Nawaz Sharif - Jindal relations???...Jindal iron ore mines in Afghanistan???...Nawaz meeting Jindal Family instead of Hurriat Conference leaders on his India visit???Hussein Nawaz - Jindal partnership???
Maryam Nawaz tweets about Jindal being a family friend??? And how Jindal played the key role in Modi's JatiUmra yatra??? Why does the narrative of Convicted Sharif's match that of Indians???Why do Indian leaders go hyper on the mention of Nawaz Sharif's ouster???

To any student of history, the suicidal Dawn leaks, starting confrontation with Army against so much to lose, continued secret meetings with Jindal, habit of buying judiciary and efforts to buy Generals with gifts and what not, all start to make sense against the thought of a Principled Nawaz Sharif.

No one can prove intentions of above events spread over three countries and their personal interests in court but the events are well documented and part of history. We can choose to stay puzzled or put it all together from the eyes of a greedy international business family as it makes perfect business sense.

Here are some more tidbits from greatgameIndia:
The time is when Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had come to Delhi for the ceremony on the invitation of the Indian PMO, along with the other Saarc leaders. In deference to good relations, Sharif had dispensed with the practice of meeting Hurriyat leaders from Jammu and Kashmir. He instead attended a tea party hosted by Sajjan Jindal in his honour.

This tea party made more waves in Pakistan than India. Former cricketer and chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan attacked Sharif for finding time to have tea with Jindal and not for the Hurriyat leaders. Speculation that the tea party was “part of a strategy by Indian steelmakers” to pitch for Pakistan’s logistical support for the iron ore project in Afghanistan was carried in reports in the Pakistan media. Clearly the tea party was a sequel to a relationship already established between Sajjan Jindal and Sharif with talks having progressed to far beyond support, according to sources.

The aim of the intense lobbying by Jindal and associates has been to convince Pakistan to give the iron ore transit rights, to ensure its shipment from Afghanistan via Pakistan to India. And perhaps, in the process to cater to PM Sharifs own interests as he owns a Steel factory that also requires iron ore. Jindal is now said to have developed ‘business relations’ that however, could not be confirmed, with Sharif’s Ittefaq Group of Industries founded by industrialist Muhammad Sharif, father of Nawaz Sharif. The Steel connection is being talked of in both Islamabad and New Delhi.

The particular article excerpt I had originally saved from Indian website theCitizen.in when the Modi Nawaz meeting took place in JatiUmra but they have since removed the link from their website. They don't like too much traffic from Pakistan I guess.

Search #BillionDollarTeaParty with what you have.

I wish I had saved another webpage some years ago in those days from Jindal steel website where I was snooping around news section which was in hindi as English version had nothing, my grandmother was alive at the time and knew how to read hindi. She told me a news item does talks about doing business with Pakistan - and iron ore mines in Afghanistan. I used web translation too but that is always crappy so I dropped it altogether as it was also in news and Barkha Dutts book. But now I feel it could have been a good old reference.

Pakistaniyo ko us waqt chiniot ka choona laga rahy thay..
CHINIOT: Major reserves of iron ore as well as copper, silver and gold were discovered in Chiniot on Wednesday, which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said could end the country’s “begging bowl” culture.

The reserves were found in Chiniot city in Punjab by Chinese group the Metallurgical Cooperation of China.

A senior provincial administrative official told AFP that initial estimates indicated 500 million tonnes of iron ore — a primary ingredient in steelmaking — had been discovered.

He said the Chinese company has expressed interest in setting up a steel mill on the site, adding that the extracted iron had been tested in Swiss and Canadian laboratories, which found 60-65 percent of it to be high grade.
