ISLAMABAD - Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is an important leader and they want his presence in the proposed meeting of all the heads of Parliamentary parties to devise a strategy on counterterrorism.
The chief minister was responding to the questions of media persons here at Punjab House after his meeting with UK Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening here on Wednesday night. The chief minister said that date for the all parties heads moot was not fixed yet as they wanted all the major political leaders to attend the conference and give their input in devising the strategy to contain the growing menace of terrorism. When his attention was drawn towards the point that PTI Chairman Imran Khan was not in the country right now, the Punjab CM replied that he (Imran) was an important leader and they wanted his valued input in the conference and hoped that he would attend the conference.
He further said that the date of the conference was also changed keeping in view the availability of all the heads of major political parties, as they wanted to have a consensus national view on the ongoing war on terror. Meanwhile about his meeting with Justine Greening, UK Secretary of State for International Development, Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that United Kingdom would spend some Rs 70 billion for the promotion of technical education and overall revamping of the education system in Punjab. Justine Greening in his brief remarks said that by year 2015 they would try to provide some o.135 million men and women in Punjab with job-oriented skills training so that they could become bread earner for their families.
She further said the United Kingdom would continue its support to Punjab government in providing skills training to people so that they could get some jobs while they would now spread the ambit of their work to some 18 districts of Punjab.
