Shahbaz to meet Kayani

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is due to meet Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at the Army House in Rawalpindi today.

According a handout issued here, Chief Minister Shahbaz and General Kayani will discuss the army’s cooperation to enhance the professional capabilities of Punjab Police in tackling terrorism.

The meeting will also review the ongoing training courses at Elite Forces’ regional centers with the help of army.

In addition, they will also evaluate the possible threats being faced by installation of sensitive agencies.

It maybe that Zardari is trying to give an impression that CJ has it in for him, thereby forcing him to withdraw from the panel for his case. i dont think in the long run this would be of any help to him .

its triangle CJ, Nawaz and Zardari..this time army is watching from stadium balcony. Sound like Shabaz took assurance from COAS not to interfere if standoff turn terrible. And it will. If this time army stayed out of this, that will bring much stronger democracy in Pakistan. But PMLn shouldn't contact COAS, its against the rule of game, it disturb neutrality of COAS.
