SgurrEnergy are engaged as technical advisor for two separate, pioneering wind farm developments in the province of Sindh in southern Pakistan. The two sites lie approximately 80km to the east of Karachi and are being developed by major Pakistani corporations, diversifying into the independent power production sector. Each project will include the development, construction and operation of 50MW installed capacity. As technical advisor, SgurrEnergy is providing a wide range of services, including: wind resource monitoring, wind turbine technology reviews, energy yield analysis, feasibility studies and EPC procurement support.

Kevin Quinn, Senior Project Engineer at SgurrEnergy commented, “Government initiatives in Pakistan have created a positive environment for the development of renewable energy through tariff schemes and incentives designed to prime the market in the short-term and set up a cost-effective market in the longer-term. This combined with an excellent resource for the operation of wind turbines means the wind industry in Pakistan is moving from strength to strength.”

SgurrEnergy is proud to be involved in these ground breaking projects which aim to tackle Pakistan’s serious power shortage in an environmentally sustainable way.
