this wajahat guy is obsessed with his selfie I have never seen anyone who would allow more than few minutes of any program which doesnt contain his face up close covering 85% of the screen.
if someone could approach him and ask him nicely to allow the viewers to see the world around him a little more then it wont do him any harm.
wish someone could start a petition. pick any program where he is on his own or with a camera crew.
now dont get me wrong. he is smart, eloquent, good speaker but sadly suffers from this self obsessive weakness which is a bane for many media persons. whether or not he is doing it on purpose or unknowingly .. it is annoying

looking at some programs specially in the outdoor documentaries, one expects the host to let the viewer see what he sees around him and speak in the background. good examples are many you would have seen on the discovery and BBC

contrast that with some anchors and hosts outside the studio who keep the camera about 3 feet from their face ensuring that their face is gracing 90% of the screen.

this souldn't really bother you if you dont care about the subject or the host himself since you wont even tune in. but if you are interested in anyone of them then it really is bothersome.

for me the biggest culprit who I normally care and enjoy is Wajahat S Khan. .. pick any program lately in the outdoors be it current affairs, security WoT..pretty much the entire program has his handsome face pasted for the entire duration of the program and if you are lucky and Wajahat is feeling generous then you will get a glimpse of what is around him.

I did leave a message on his twitter page asking him to allow some camera time away from his face which would actually make his program more appealing and enjoyable.

who is your culprit? note I am excluding the in studio programs.

looking at these screenshots you can be damn sure that major portion of the program has the camera zeroed into his face only.

@Irfan Baloch : Why are you obsessing with this rather than be concerned about the sports fan who is going to jail for 10 years for rooting for the wrong team? If you don't defend him, it can't be long before you're going to be compelled to worship the media idols you now criticize, right?

What a coincidence ................. I am watching his shows right now, about Gawadar............... and I don't think he is doing any thing wrong............. Camera always include his face when he is talking, and when he point out at some direction, only then camera move in that direction and take the snap............ I don't find any thing bad in it............

sorry I missed that story so I have nothing to say about that. if my concern for the fan means anything to you then please do make a note of it. have you seen football family by the way? its a British movie about Football Hulligans. they dont send people to jail for rooting a wrong team.. they break their bones or even necks for being in the wrong place at the wrong time too and belonging to a wrong club.

moving on ... coming back to the topic.
I found the documentaries by Tatal Hussain much better presented where he allowed the audience to have a look at Miran Shah and other waziristan operation areas during his outings.

just in case we dont forget who he is and how he looks like. who cares about nameless places and other people who are the subject matter of his program and he is supposed to be covering

how generous of him that he allows few seconds of glimpse . his constant picture reminds me of Iranian Ayatullah portrait obsession who MUST appear in Parks, fast food joints, Malls, factories and road sides smiling benevolently on the mere Iranian mortals.

I find it annoying thats all. have you seen the documentaries from Europe and America? the presenter does appear in it but he is not intrusive and overbearing the camera instead of focusing on his nostrils is giving you the first person impression of the view.. I think in the end its just the matter of personal preference and reason why I mentioned Talat Hussain's program on Miran shah was to show that I am not slaving myself to western programs.

But what I like is the quality of his understanding about Military stuff and yeah his soldier like attitude......

I was watching a program on Pakistan Aviation in which the female host was saying.......

"This is cobra helicopter, its the best helicopter in existence, oh it has two pilots"

"Ap btain k Cobra wo fly krte hain jinhain flying ati he?"

"Ap asan Urdu main btain k ye kia chez he ?"


Etc etc .......... I prefer Wajahat Ali Khan show over any other Mano billi type anchor we have........

Dear Sir, despite your above highlighted observation which is quite true , he should be at least appreciated for conducting show on military. Such shows should also be initiated on all Pak News channels in order to build a relationship between gen public and military. Our country is facing both external insurgents and economic terrorism.

It;s time to wake up and build nation on both civil and military front to face such challenges. Now perhaps Pak is only Muslim nation which is in some state of stability. Further I heard that some time back a military channel was suggested by pros to be opened. Sad thing is that resources are there for vulgar and shameful dramas/shows but not for such subjects.

I wrote it because
I like the host , like his delivery and knowledge about the subject and the subject matter itself concerns me and interests me, tweaking a little bit the way camera is handled will allow the viewer to see and experience in first person what he sees. I have given ample comparative examples as a guide.
I dont really care about some other program hosts like you mentioned, I wont even bother watching it because I will end up cringing and cursing.

and finally yet he is handsome. and I told him on his twiter, all he has to do is reduce the dose on the camera ::::

Selfie obsession has reached terrible limits media ppl are no exception. There was even this terrible incident where a baby dolphin died due to stupid human obsession.
