KARACHI: Flouting Supreme Court and Election
Commission’s directives regarding reshuffling
in bureaucracy, the caretaker government in
Sindh has appointed some junior officers as
deputy commissioners while grade 18 officers
have been given additional charges of
commissioners.
Taking notice of complaints registered by some
opposition parties, the Election Commission of
Pakistan had ordered the Sindh government to
remove 65 commissioners and deputy
commissioners appointed on political grounds.
However, the government removed officials only
in 27 districts.
Sources said that the blue eyed junior officers
were not only promoted but also appointed on
top posts, brushing aside Election Commission
recommendations while violating Supreme Court
orders by appointing juniors officers of grade 18
of grade 19 posts.
The fact is gauged from the postings of Junior
Officers Umar Farooq Billu who has not only
been appointed Deputy Commissioner Larkana
but the gentleman has also taken charge of grade
20 post of commissioner.
Though, Deputy Commissioner Larkana
Assadullah Abru has been replaced, he has been
accommodated in the same district by appointing
as Additional Commissioner.
Captain Anwarul Haq, though a junior officers in
Khairpur, has been posted as Deputy
Commissioner Khairpur.
