The Saudi corvettes are based on the Navanita Avante 2200 and are multi-role corvettes specifically designed for maritime traffic control and surveillance, search and rescue operations, assistance to other vessels, coastal facility protection and other missions. In addition, the corvettes will have high capabilities in anti-surface ship warfare (ASuW), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), air defense (AAW) and electronic warfare (EW) capabilities..
