Saudi Crown Prince and Minister of Defence Invited to China

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang announces at the regular press conference:

At the invitation of Vice President Li Yuanchao, the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia, Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud will pay an official visit to China from March 13 to 16.

Great news.

We already have military cooperation in various fields, though frankly Saudi Arabia doesn't need it, their defence budget is larger than the rest of the region combined.

It would be amazing to have Saudi as a long-term partner for our Defence industry though, there is a lot to be gained by both sides. Both of our Defence industries still have a lot of room to grow and expand, and there is no shortage of funding on either side.

Nothing of a change, we have been friends with the Chinese.

I would say that the real change is to take our friendship into a new level.
