Russian Su-35 Fighter Equipped With 'Artificial Intelligence'

Russia's advanced multirole Su-35 fighter aircraft is equipped with an 'artificial intelligence' unit that helps the aircraft to lock the specific target for destruction by a certain kind of weapon system.

The general director of Rostech state corporation, Sergei Chemezov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti on the sidelines of Dubai airshow that one of the Su-35 fighters exhibited in Dubai is outfitted with an artificial intelligence unit that may simultaneously capture and analyse six targets at once.

"The Su-35, which is taking part in dubai airshow for the first time, is fitted with an intelligence unit that analyzes six goals simultaneously to capture and immediately determines what kind of weapons should be hit," said Chemezov.

“It's not even a pilot doing, but artificial intelligence that does all this,” he clarified.

Sukhoi-35 is a 4 ++ generation fighter aircraft with controlled thrust vector engines. The aircraft uses fifth generation technology that ensures superiority over foreign-produced fighters of a similar class.

No doubt its a beauty and beast in 1 package.

Day by Day SU35 is turning heads and some how catching the market share left by US . probably we will see more F35 sales or prospects

Many things that can be tested on Su 35 in Syria and can be upgraded with feedback from real scenarios then can be incorporated into T-50 fighter for more effective future use. One other thing that can be tested in my opinion is taking control of drones and the plane acting as a command post for drone operations. One idea for future ucav operations in both a2a and a2g mode is that planes controlling ucavs as networked nodes. The one below mentions about 2 pilot case one controling the drone swarm and the other piloting the plane itself. For single pilot case I think drone control can be shared partially with ground drone operators as situation requires control taken over by the pilot or access to drone survaillance data whenever required.

Indeed. The Russians have been contemplating using that concept of controlling drones/UAVs/UCAVs from their dual rotor attack helicopters for almost a decade now. Nothing has materialized -- at least we haven't seen it yet -- but they did mention the use of large pods mounted on their attack helo wings (Black Shark was the first concept) that releases several drones, and while the dual rotor helo is easier to pilot than a conventional tail rotor, the side-by-side pilot configuration would allow the WSO to operate the drones for either recon or attack while the chopper remained at a safe distance. The concept sounds fantastic, it just needs to be materialize.

Another thing is ofcourse testing the L band aesa radars or similar radars onboard some of the Su-35 and see if they can detect F22 flying around east of Syria and from sufficient range or not.

Pakistan should consider this or SU-37!

What type of AI on Su35.

Glad to see SU-35s are coming to PAF.
