Russias Cabinet of Ministers has approved the signing of the memorandum on cooperation with Pakistan which concerns the reconstruction and the upgrade of the state owned Pakistan Steel Mill plant.
In February, Mr Andrey Demidov Russia's Ambassador to Pakistan said that Russia was ready to grant USD 500 million to Pakistan for the plant's development and reconstruction. Pakistan Steel Mill is the country's largest steel plant for the construction of which the USSR provided financial assistance.
During the recent visit to Moscow Mr Hina Rabbani Khar the Pakistani Foreign Minister said that Pakistani people still regard this plant as Russias important contribution into the economic development of their country.
