PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance Engr Muhammad Hamayun Khan on Saturday announced a grant of Rs 10 million for water supply scheme at village Mataknai in Malakand Agency and directed the authorities concerned to complete the project on immediate basis.
Addressing a public gathering at Mataknai, he said that government is prioritizing public welfare and developmental projects with an aim to provide basic amenities of life to people at their doorsteps.
He said that water supply scheme would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh while 10 lakh rupees would be utilized to install hand pumps in the area for resolving the issue of water shortage on urgent basis.
Hamayun said that government has planned to initiate different developmental schemes under Annual Development Programme for which a proper guidance and cooperation of local elders would be requested. The minister while highlighting the projects of Batkhela-Totakan Road, Batkhela Water Gravity System, Badowan Bridge, construction of various flood protection channels and Degree Colleges, said that these projects are a depiction of government sincerity towards people and a determination to fulfill pledges made to public in general elections.
