The two most reliable collectors of hadith, Bukhari and Muslim also share a quote from the revered companion of the Prophet, Abdullah ibn al-Abbas which states, “if someone dislikes his ruler, he must be patient, because if he comes against the ruler in a rebellious or destructive manner by only a hand span and dies, he dies in a state of pre-Islamic ignorance (jahiliyyah) and sin.”

In an authentic narration Hudhaifa bin al-Yaman narrated, “The Prophet (saws) said, ‘There will be after me leaders who do not follow my guidance and do not follow my sunnah and there will be among them men whose hearts are like those of Satan in the body of a human being.’ And I asked the Prophet (saws), ‘What I should do at that time if I reach it?’ He said, ‘listen and obey the ruler, even if he lashed your back and took your money, listen and obey.’

And in another narration it was said that:

Auf bin Malik said, “O Prophet of Allah, do you recommend that we fight them?” He said, “No, don’t fight them as long as they do not prevent you from your prayers. And if you see from them something that you dislike, dislike their acts, do not dislike them. And do not take your hand out from obedience to them.”

So, good leaders will come if you change yourselves, not arm yourself and go kill the government.

May God help us with our leaders. Inshallah

Then what to make of the assasinations of so many islamic leaders, starting from the time immediately after Mohammed's (PBUH) passing away?

Oh, and by the way, Qur'an outrules the Hadith. The Qur'an says that we have the permission to kill those that spread corruption throughout the land, so that is an exception.

not permission to kill without reason............. its more like in the state of war - when two nations wage a war against each other

or you kill a criminal - if he has killed anybody else.... or he is spreading fitnah in the land in many senses

VCheng- I am not aware of any names...

Zaki- I got these from a dawn article... so I don't think these are authentic. Also, I really think that corrupt leaders should be killed, as per Islamic Law. They are ruining the country and destroying what is ours.

“ The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter theirs will be an awful doom.” (Al-Ma’dah: 33)

There is no way a country can strive with corruption. Allah knows this.

Also, I posted these Hadith, only to say one thing: Let's be patient. It's easy for us to say "COME ON BRING IN THE TANKS AND DECLARE MARTIAL LAW" (though I personally agree with this!), but we have corruption stretching to the very roots of our society. Changing water meter is one. Stealing electricity is another example. So let's change ourselves first- a good leader will surely make a lot of difference, but to change Pakistan completely, we must start at home. Even I am not certain of the authenticity of the hadiths themselves. I just want to say a message.

Having said that, I highly doubt anyone on defence.pk actually does the things I mentioned here because, well, we're all patriotic and educated.

Who talks of killing here...

Guys take it easy... remember killing someone is a matter of life and death... We should be very careful saying these things...

Now let me MbinQasim try to present an argument...

Look what the prophet did... Did he go around killing people to come to power? He could ve ordered his brave warriors like Ali and Umar RA to kill Abu Jahl or Abu Sufyan in Mecca, but he did NOT...

The only scholar that I know of who has allowed to use of violence to achieve power is Ibn Taymiyah and even he states that only reason for such rebellion should be obvious disbelief action from a ruler AND when the armed group is 100 Percent sure that they will achieve political power to replace injustice...

Otherwise you stick to the method of the prophet... which is learn exactly what you want to change i.e have a good grasp of Islam... and then talk to those who have power to help you achieve your goals... and convince them of your ideas...

The Ansar of our times... Pakistan Army

Think about it... Killing Zardari would achieve next to nothing... another dog will replace him instead... and the same corrupt system will continue...

.
BTW... these ahadith as far as I m aware are authentic... BUT they are talking about Caliphs i.e those who are given the pledge of allegiance to lead Muslims... not these current kings and corruption queens that sit on top of us today...
