Media: Qatar sent to the Syrian authorities proposal on the restoration of diplomatic relations
Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani has sent an offer to the Syrian authorities on the restoration of diplomatic relations between the countries torn about two years ago on the initiative of the Qatari side. About it tonight said the Lebanese TV channel "al-Маядин".
The representative of the Syrian government responded that Damascus expects from Doha real steps which would have confirmed the seriousness of intentions of the Qatari authorities to normalize relations, mindful of the role played by Qatar in fomenting war in Syria.

Need a better source if possible. This would be an unforeseeable step that is practically impossible to comprehend.

This conflict has passed the boundaries of money to just grabbing land. The amount of money spent is astronomical. Opening a diplomatic channel with a country where they were sending their paid terrorists does not seem like something they would do. It would be the suicide to what they set out to do. I think Qatari's will be the last people on the table to talk to the Syrian government.

I read news like that in Arabic about a week ago, however I believe it is not true at all... one analysis was that Qatar lost Egypt, thus they want to compete with Saudi "Arabia" by normalizing relationship with Syria, and then Qatar only can have their pipeline through Syria, however those are just rumors....

If Assad accepts, he must be cursed
