Cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan announced on Saturday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would not make any electoral alliance in Karachi as it was strong enough to go it alone.

The PTI is prepared for the big match, no matter elections are held or not, asserted Khan while interacting with the media at a local hotel here. He said his party did not have any militant wing and that a change in Pakistan could only come through elections.

Khan held the view that army needed to be deployed at and around sensitive polling stations on the polling day, which, he called extremely important and historical for the country.

The PTI chief claimed that the results of the upcoming elections would be the same as that of the historic 1992 Cricket World Cup final, when the Pakistani team had achieved the milestone.
“We are hopeful the PTI would achieve great results in the elections; we are going to field smart candidates who will achieve success just as my former cricket team did,” he said.

To a query, Khan said Nawaz Sharif’s silence over Pervez Musharraf’s arrival in Pakistan made it seem like the retired general had not returned, while earlier Mr Sharif was demanding a trial of Musharraf under Article 6.

Khan added the PTI had decided to bring the youth in Parliament in order to end conventional politics in the country. “Pakistan will collapse if the traditional politics does not end,” he went on to say.
About the province of Sindh, Khan said the former provincial government had failed to facilitate the masses, but now the people had a chance to elect “our young candidates to get a respite”.
The PTI, Khan added, was not an intelligence agency that might have all the information available about its candidates. A committee had been established under justice (retired) Wajihuddin Ahmed for scrutiny of candidates.

He also said that discussion was in progress over seat-adjustment with different political and religious parties, including the PML-F, Awami Muslim League, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Jamaat-e-Islami. He however made it clear that no alliance would be reached with any political or religious party.

Khan expressed deep concern on the statement of the various leaders about delay in elections, saying his party wanted timely and fair elections.

He said that returning officer should ask mature questions from the election candidates. PTI’s manifesto, he said, would be announced in the next week.

Khan said that the basis of the PTI was the local government system, and added implementation of a true local bodies system would end the era of feudalism in the country.

free and fair elections under army protection !!

Khan is stupid and a naive politician, he thinks he still has Tsunami
should have made alliances with JI which has a large vote bank in Karachi and in KPK
on may 12 he will realize all his bad decisions

If PTI represents change than it must fly solo, even if it hurts its chances of success.

Who says JI has large vote bank in karachi ? i live in karaci and i can tell you that JI all alone was a flop show in previous few elections not just from khi from entire pakistan, they performed well under the umbrella of MMA on the other hand PTI is in much better position both in KPK and karachi so at the end of the day its going to be JI who will regret its decision plus IK is not stupid but you are.

Who will protect him from the MQM then? I don't know if he will be able to win in Karachi because people vote on the basis of ethnicity. So basically people will continue voting in MQM's and PMLN's. I think Imran Khan will not be able to win elections. They will probably come 3rd or 4th after the PPP and PMLN-perhaps even after the PMLQ.

I don't think PML(Q) will get alot of votes from any place except for Gujrat area. Their vote bank has been drastically reduced IMO.

To be Honest I dont think PTI will win from karachi, i am a karachiite and i know what MQM can do here in Karachi, just for an example, last Elections i was not able to vote because i was 17, but i went to the Polling station and MQM boys told me to vote as well and the most amazing part was my Father vote was already casted by some one else, Imran is right and no one has other option than army in Karachi because we Cant trust police to secure the Polling station, Army is the best option. I would really like to sea at least two seats of PTi from karachi but that is hard. But still I know my whole family and czns will vote to imran in karachi.

then you are just as naive as your leader, JI cannot win it alone in Karachi but it has a large vote bank, I am from Karachi too but i guess we lived in two different Karachis

JI is the only proven clean and democratic party, PTI still has to prove it and from the looks of it I doubt they can come close to JI and not only that JI had experienced and educated politicians and PTI can learn a lot from them about organizing a large political party

No offense bro but JI is a party of senior citizens plus their youth wing is a proven terrorist group.

When I heard PTI would partner it self with any of these religious political parties, I thought of not voting for PTI. Now know PTI won't be doing any hanki panki with these political parties, I think I might vote for PTI now.
