HARIPUR: The Election Tribunal (ET) on Friday disqualified Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa minister for works and communication, Yousaf Ayub Khan for having fake degree.
It should be mentioned that Yousaf Ayub Khan was elected member of KP Assembly on PTI ticket from PK-50, Haripur.
The runner up candidate Qazi Muhammad Asad belonging to Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) had filed a petition in ET against his rival challenging his bachelors degree.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) had sent his degree to the Punjab University for verification following the instructions from the Election Commission Tribunal. After checking, Yousaf Ayubs degree was declared fake.
The ET has directed fresh election in PK-50, Haripur-2 as the seat fell vacant after Yousafs disqualification.
