No it is not illegal. It doesn't say so in the constitution. Morality and ethics is another thing.

Secondly, they haven't yet resigned. These were just recommendations by the Election Committee, which will now be vetted by the Executive Council of the party.

This was said so in a official PTI statement yesterday.

they should have delayed this matter for some time... its not a time for creating internal problems. also, it is legally not required. they have simply diverted media attention to these matters rather than the provincial issues which deserve to be highlighted. this is when they already know how biased the media is towards PTI.
