PTI chalking out strategy for long march: Imran - thenews.com.pk

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said his party would chalk out a strategy on Tuesday, which could mark the launching of the biggest ever long march in Islamabad against the corrupt rulers, who appeared in no mood to respect the judiciary’s judgments.

“We will not allow Yusuf Raza Gilani to go to the Prime Minister House, once an appeal is filed against the landmark Supreme Court judgment in the contempt of court case,” Imran asserted while talking to relatives of missing persons and journalists during his visit to the missing persons’ camp outside the National Press Club here to express solidarity with their distressed families.

Imran contended that after the apex court verdict, Yusuf Raza Gilani was neither prime minister nor a member of the National Assembly and noted that if he did not go home, the PTI would launch a long march against him. During his visit, PTI’s central leaders, including Fauzia Kasuri and Zahid Hussain Kazmi also accompanied him. Both Imran and PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif have warned of long marches in case Gilani did not respect the apex court judgment.

Imran said Gilani was trying to hide corruption of President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP’s coalition partners’ solidarity with an ìex-premierî had exposed them, as the real issue was of corruption. ìAllies fear that if the judiciary could bring him to the court, tomorrow, a hand could be laid on them as well,î he said.

The PTI chairman called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to make it clear the Army had nothing to do with the missing persons’ phenomenon, as this was a matter of shame for everyone.

He urged Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry take action on this hot issue.

Imran said the cases of missing persons had increased in Balochistan, which had brought the province to the present critical situation, as dead bodies continued to be recovered. “Missing persons’ incidents are causing hatred against the state,” he said.

I will only support and join an Imran Khan led front and center long march.

That's what they said about Lahore, then Karachi, then Quetta..... I am noticing a trend here and it's definitely to my liking ;)

Keep underestimating PTI, it only helps our cause. :D
You called that a big crowd? The MQM women's rally had a bigger one and they were primarily females. Keep deluding yourselves

Unfortunately.. this may not auger well unless its actually co-ordinated with the Noon leaguers.
Two separate long marches will have little effect apart from ensuring a hung parliament next term.
PTI will have to play the devil's advocate.. get SMQ and JH to talk to MQM and PML(N) respectively..
and form an alliance of convenience.

MQM is not a good idea. Although PML has said today that they will approach PTI in this matter.

And PTI have said that this will be pondered upon in the executive committee meeting tomorrow.

This should happen, the opposition should unite, and give a unified stance.

But the thing here is, that PTI is saying that N-league has a habit of back tracking, but today, Nawaz Sharif said, it is do or die.

The second thing is that PTI are waiting for the detailed verdict, and then going to do something.

While N-league have already announced their plans.

PML is not enough as an ally.
you need an organized force.
The worst case scenario then left is to go to the Mullah's and get them onboard..
results not guaranteed.

The Islamic parties have a totally different agenda IMO. Maulana Diesel can be a possibility, although he can blow hot and cold frequently.

PML, PTI, the original Bhuttos, some Baloch parties and others. And the people power, this would give serious problems to the government. In the next month, if the government does not budge, i say go with it.

.
I dont understand why people are pushing PTI to have one point agenda with PMLN, after enjoying 4.5 years in government they wanna get clean ?? they are the ones who supported ppp in punjab govt for more than 3.5 years... now suddenly Pakistan ki yaad kese aa gai inko? oh han Election year jo hai !!
