PTI and MQM have tacit understanding: report

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have reached a tacit understanding that is why the former party is not performing any political activity in Karachi and Hyderabad.
Some observers said absence of any political activities showed that the PTI could not get any seat from Karachi but emotional campaign of Khan can affect MQM’s votes in the area.
Sources said the PTI had fielded national and provincial assembly candidates from those areas in the port city where the MQM was expecting tough competition.
Moreover, the sources added that the PTI was not in a position to get any seat from Karachi, and the MQM would get benefit from the absence of PTI’s political activities.
Sources in the PTI revealed that the party had allotted party ticket to Subhan Ali Sahil from NA-239 and 240 constituencies, and Naz Baloch from NA-240.
Arif Alvi will contest elections on PTI ticket from NA-250 and Rana Azhar from NA-251 while Ali Zaidi was the PTI candidate from NA-252, the sources added.
Ashraf Qureshi will contest elections from NA-253 and Zubair Khan from NA-256. The PTI has awarded ticket for NA-257 to Dr Farooq Bangash and Qurban Baror was contesting general elections from NA-258 on PTI ticket, they further said.

PTI is contesting from almost all seats of karachi apart from 2 or 3 seats and who says there is no political activity in karachi from PTI ? The jalsa was cancelled due to security threats and wave of blasts in the city but honestly i dont see any understanding or secret alliance between MQM and PTI.

MQM candidate in Quetta withdraws in favour of PTI

QUETTA: Prince Abdul Baqi Baloch Chagai, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) candidate for NA-260 Quetta, withdrew his candidature in favour of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Karim Dad Sumalani who is contesting from the same constituency.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Thursday, Chagai said that he decided to unconditionally support the PTI candidate after consultation with his party leaders.

PTI candidate Karim Dad assured that he would take all steps for the welfare of the people.

Workers of both PTI and MQM were present at the press conference.

This is a Game of Thrones, all players are playing for their best position. MQM cannot hope to oppose a PML-N lead National Assembly neither can the PPP oppose PML-N in Punjab. Thus, the parties are playing it very intelligently and this is politics and we should see it as such.

Nawaz Sharif has 10 party alliance, most of whom are Sindhi Nationalists. Duh they can never go along with MQM.

IK has said many times that PTI and MQM are natural allies. It depends what he means by militant wings. He could mean PPP and ANP.

PTI has candidates all over Karachi.

As for the political campaigning thing, politics in Sindh is different, there is a strong feudal imprint in Sindh.

Secondly, why didn't Nawaz Sharif do a campaign there? He didn't even do a rally which PTI did!

As Nawaz Sharif said, 'mafroozon par baat nhn karni chahiay'.

MQM worked well during Musharraf time. Some of PTI goals like restoration of local government system is something that will help MQM As well. I dont see this as a problem. Idont think IK will get angwhere in Karachi in any case. Individual adjustment might not be a bad idea.
