“The statements of President Ilham Aliyev at the Eastern Partnership summit in Prague again showed that our country strives for friendship, fraternity and partnership with Turkey”.

According to 1news.az, the statement came from deputy chief of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, chief of department for foreign relations Novruz Mammadov.

He said that the statements of President of Azerbaijan demonstrated that the ties between Baku and Ankara are on the highest level and that close cooperation will continue.

“I think that hundreds, thousands of comments and publications in Turkic media about the participation of the President of Azerbaijan in the Prague summit have their say”, Mammadov noted.

During the Eastern Partnership summit in Prague last week President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan devoted his speech to unwise insinuations about the mythical ‘Armenian genocide’ and blockade of Armenia by Turkey.

“President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev responded to the Armenian president’s statements.

“You know that Turkey is not represented at this summit and try to take the advantage. But I am here and I will answer you!”, the Azerbaijani president said explaining the closure of the Turkish-Armenian border with the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia.

"Public statements that the Armenian press circulated on the eve of anniversary of the 1915 events are nonsense and a result of sick imagination of the Armenian nationalists."

It was stated by Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, director of the Institute of Oriental Studies after Ziya Bunyadov at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences , professor, while commenting on views of a number of public figures of Armenia, in particular, head of central office of Hay Dat and Office of Political Affairs of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation "Dashnaksutyun" Kiro Manoyan regarding the normalization of Armenia-Turkey ties on the eve of 100th anniversary of the so-called ‘Armenian genocide’, 1news.az reports.

Manoyan said that on the eve of this "nationwide date" Armenia should have withdrawn its signature from the Armenian-Turkish protocols, as Ankara, he believes, "is covered by them in cases when it is criticized for the blockade of Armenia."

"Manoyan’s senseless statements are complete nonsense, and even we assume that somehow Armenia will dare to take this step, it will eventually will be a loser. Armenia will suffer itself, but not such a powerful country like Turkey. These documents are more important for Yerevan than for Ankara for the simple reason that Armenia needs Turkey, but not vice versa.

At that time Turkey showed goodwill and signed these documents, and that if Armenians still do not understand this, then it will harm Armenians themselves," the MP noted.

It is good that Azerbaijan and Turkey work together on the highest level. Azerbaijan is my only hope for Turkic union. They are more turanist and tengrist than Turkey. Also Azerbaijan is in the center of the Turkic world and has access to the Turkic lake the Caspian. They can draw everybody together.
